The tropical Andes offer plenty of resources to their inhabitants. But they also bear some risks. These controversial aspects were the content of a geo-scientific excursion which led 20 students - most of them of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna - through Peru for three weeks. The foci were put on glacial hazards and glacial disasters in the Cordillera Blanca as well as on the manifold landscapes and resources of the southern Peruvian Andes, from the mild climate around Lake Titicaca to the rugged refugium of Machu Picchu.
This comprehensive movie shall, on the one hand, convey the students' experiences also to those who had to stay at home. On the other hand, it shall depictly and vividly convey scientific content to everyone interested. The film premiere took place on 26 November 2018 within the frame of the International Days at BOKU.
